Ronald E. Magaha (76) of Beallsville, Maryland joined the Lord on September 13, 2020. He was preceded in death by Harriet Butler Magaha, his loving wife of 53 years. Ron was born in West Virginia on September 1, 1944. He was the son of Wilson H. Magaha and Anna May Magaha. He is also preceded in death by one sister, Charlotte Rebecca “Becky” Mentzer and one infant brother, Jerry Magaha.

Ron is survived by three children, Rinnie Magaha (Robin), Robin LeMarr (Donnie), Holly Henderson (Ryan); eleven grandchildren Tyler, Trevor, Maddison and Mackenzie Magaha; Cody, Makayla, Dylan, Seth and Zack LeMarr; Lydia and Emily Henderson, and two brothers Tommy (Alice) and Ray (Linda).

As a child, Ron grew up on horse farms where he learned to ride, train and show horses. As a teenager he showed cattle and was a member of the Montgomery County 4-H Beef Club. He graduated from Poolesville High School in 1963, and after graduating Ron trained horses and enjoyed playing polo with his brothers. In 1964 he married the love of his life, Harriet Butler. Ron and Harriet resided in Beallsville, Maryland for most of their life together.

Ron worked at the Montgomery Village Foundation. Then in the mid 70’s he started Cornerstone Inc. with the late Philip (Bud) Gregory. Cornerstone was a successful company where Ron used his expertise to build fences, custom barns and houses. His son continues to operate the family business today.

Ron was a 4-H leader for the Montgomery County Sheep and Swine Club for many years. He had a positive impact on many 4-Her’s over the years as he helped them with their animals. He also played an active role at the Montgomery County Agricultural Center and served as the fair president twice and fair chairmen for 10 years.

Ron was also a member of St. Mary’s Church in Barnesville. He belonged to the Holy Name Society. He devoted a lot of time to the events at St. Mary’s. He was a man of strong faith. He loved God and had a strong belief in God’s word. Ron will be remembered as a person with a very big heart. He loved meeting new people and embracing people with warmth, smiles and hugs. He devoted his life to his wife, children, and grandchildren.
