Patricia Messer Stabler, 69, of Laytonsville, died Feb. 25, 2008, in Sandy Spring Friends Nursing Home. Born Jan. 17, 1939, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the deceased Allie and Edith Messer. She was the wife of W. Drew Stabler for 46 years.
Mrs. Stabler graduated from Gaithersburg High School in 1957, received her bachelors degree in 1961 and her masters degree in 1966 from University of Maryland. She was an avid gardener, teacher, 4-H leader and community volunteer.
Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters, Stacy Marie Stabler of New York and Tricia L. Stabler-Holland and husband, Carl L. Holland III of Laytonsville; three sisters, Roberta King of Centreville, Jean Legal of Clarksville, Susan Debnam of Chestertown; one granddaughter, Morgan Drew Holland.
