Mrs. Nancy Lorraine Musgrove, 79, of Frederick, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2011, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the loving wife of H. Frank Musgrove. They have been married for 60 years.
Born in Cumberland on March 4, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Gladys Rinker Appel.
Nancy was retired after 18 years at National Geographic Society in Gaithersburg. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Frederick and a former member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, in Gaithersburg, where she was a very active member and involved in many church activities. She was also a very active volunteer with the Montgomery County Fair, Old Timers Exhibit, Gaithersburg Help Program and Head Start Program.
Nancy’s priority in life was to provide a loving home for her entire family. She loved cooking, sewing and tending her rose garden and spending time with the ones she loved.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Harry Musgrove and Linda C. Starkey and husband Bill, all of Frederick, two brothers, Robert Appel and Paul Appel, both of Cumberland, two sisters, Margie Humbertson, of Cumberland and Carolyn Wyer, of Moorefield, West Virginia, three grandchildren, Joseph T. Roberts, Jeffrey F. Roberts and wife Shelly, and Jennifer L. Hurley and fiancé, Billy Reed, six great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Bryant, Kylee, Brandan, Trent and Kasey, also surviving are many nieces and nephews and special friends, Donna Starkey and Ann Hricko.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Stan Zollner, Harry Appel and Joe Appel, two sisters, Elizabeth Robinette and Gladys Jean Appel.
