Mr. Melvin Harris Glover Sr., 90, of Woodfield, died Friday, June 13, 2008, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville. He was the beloved husband of the late Rose M. Glover, his wife of 65 years.
Born Oct. 27, 1917, in Gaithersburg, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Etta Potts Glover.
Mr. Glover served in the U.S. Airforce during World War II. He managed the floral division of A. Gude and Sons in Rockville, for 50 years. A longtime member of the Montgomery County Agricultural Center in Gaithersburg. He was very active in the Montgomery County Farmers Market, and a very active participant in the St. Paul’s Catholic Community in Damascus.
Surviving him are four children, Mary Louise Gould of Denton, Melvin Harris Glover Jr., of Gaithersburg, Rose Ann Armes of Westminster, and Carol Marie Richards of Woodfield; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
