Mrs. Zelda W. Young, 78, of Taneytown, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, at her home.
She was the wife of Harold B. Young, who died in 1977.
Born Jan. 5, 1925, in Damascus, she was the daughter of the late Gurney and Marie C. Leach Warthen.
She was a graduate of Strayer’s Business College in Washington, D.C.
Mrs. Young was a homemaker.
She was a member of Messiah United Methodist Church, Taneytown.
She also was a member of Taneytown Senior Citizens Club and Montgomery County Homemakers Club.
She is survived by four sons, Richard Warthen and wife Mary of Frederick, Blaine Warthen and wife Helen of Emmitsburg, Robert Warthen of Pace, Fla., and Kevin Warthen of Westminster; a daughter, Patricia Alford of Eldersburg; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She also will be remembered by her friends, including John and Ann Harvey of Taneytown.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Albert Warthen.
