Mr. William (Punk) Oliver Knott, 74, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 4, 2015 at his home in Ijamsville, Md. with family and friends. He was the beloved husband of Gail Kathleen Knott his wife of 47 years.
Born February 17, 1941 in Boyds, he was a son of the late John G. Sr., and Beulah Reffit Knott.
Mr. Knott was a member of Hyattstown Volunteer Fire Department since 1960; retired in 1985 from Montgomery County Roads Department; worked as custodian of Hyattstown Christian Church for 25 years; Montgomery County Revenue 18 years; and Burdette Brothers for 14 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Ocean City hospitality house for MCFD, camping, working in his flower garden, and he loved his dog Roxann.
Surviving besides his wife Gail are a daughter Sherry Pitt, grandchildren Ashley Pitt, and Bradley Pitt, sister Mary Lou Kephart; brother Paul (Joe) Knott and wife Nancy, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers John (Skip) Knott and George Franklin (Frank) Knott.
