Kenneth “Kenny” Edward Solomon, 79, of Gaithersburg, Maryland departed this life Sunday, July 22, 2018. He was the devoted son of the late Hatcher and Mabel Thomas. Born January 30, 1939, in Washington D.C., he grew up in Germantown working on the King Farm with his father. He later worked for the Montgomery County Department of Transportation and enjoyed his 30+ years of service.
Kenny never met a stranger and was always willing to help family or friends. He enjoyed bowling on a league at Gaithersburg Bowl America and made many friends there. He loved attending and volunteering at the Montgomery County Fair. He was very proud when he received his lifetime membership. He was a member of Germantown Baptist Church.
Surviving are his brother James Thomas and wife Nettie of Harpers Ferry, W. Va., and sister-in-law Evelyn Thomas of Germantown, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by very special friends Steve and Rose Nally.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers Balfour, Gene Earl, and sisters Bobbie and Beulah.
