Mr. James W. Doonan 67, of Damascus, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at his residence. He was the husband of Doris L. Page Doonan, his wife of 45 years.
Born on August 28, 1947, in Bethesda, he was the son of the late John W. and Elizabeth Gude Doonan. James worked as a mechanic for U.S. Post Office.
James served his country in the US Navy and Navy Reserves for 16 years. He was a member of St Paul’s Catholic Church in Damascus. James was a pilot and enjoyed boating, fishing and automobile racing.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons: James P. Doonan and wife Mary Ann and Christopher Doonan and wife Dana; three grandchildren: Torin, Caelan and Collin Doonan; two sisters: Inez Glover and Elizabeth Doonan-Murphy and a brother, Frank A. Doonan.
Mr. Doonan was preceded in death by a brother, John Doonan.
