Harold Thomas McBain, 71, born March 24, 1934, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005.

Harold was a lifelong resident of Gaithersburg and a member of the Montgomery County Agriculture Center, volunteering countless hours for over 55 years. He was also a volunteer fireman for Gaithersburg Washington Grove Fire Dept. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked for C&P Telephone Co. and later for AT&T Telephone Co. for 35 years. After retiring from the phone company, he then worked for Shady Grove Adventist Hospital from 1989 until his passing.

Harold was preceded in death by his father, George McBain; mother, Lucy McBain; and sisters, Francis McBain and Mildred Regan. Harold was survived by his loving wife Jeannette of 42 years; children, Rick and wife Peggy of Rockville, Karla and husband Ron of New Market, Sandy and husband Ernie of Mount Airy, and Tom and wife Karen, also of Mount Airy. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Ben, Travis, Justin, Big Justin, Steven, Taylor, Brendan, Jesse, and Maggie; and his brother, George McBain. He was also survived by 24 nieces and nephews and many other family members.
