George Frank Esworthy, age 80, of Berkeley Springs, WV, formerly of Frederick County, MD, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.
George was born on October 19, 1936 in Darnestown, MD, the son of the late George C. and Helen E. Benson Esworthy.
He was a graduate of Richmond Montgomery High School, Rockville, MD. Frank retired after 36 years from the United States Postal Service as a Rural Carrier. He was a member of the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, lifetime member of the Montgomery County Agricultural Center, a member of the New Market Grange, was a Volunteer Fireman for the Hyattstown Volunteer Fire Department, a volunteer for the Frederick County 4H Camp and Activities Center and a Volunteer Disaster Response Worker and Project Manager for the Brethren Disaster Ministries. Frank also loved attending Antique Tractor and Engine Shows.
Frank is survived by his wife, Sarah “Sue” Gloyd Esworthy of Berkeley Springs, WV, his daughters, Pam Sneed of Woodbridge, VA, Joy Rabbitt and her husband Mitch of Berkeley Springs, WV and Kim Esworthy of Fulks Run, VA, his grandchildren Mark Allen Wilson of Berkeley Springs, WV, Jill Wilson of Burlington, MA, Kyle Sneed and Alexis Sneed, both of Woodbridge, VA and Jessica Wilson of Berkeley Springs, WV, his sister, Dorothy Magers of Jefferson, MD, his sister-in-law, Lou Gloyd of Mount Airy, MD and his dear friend and volunteer partner, John Thompson. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Esworthy.
