Edith Mae Cross, 89, of Derwood, MD, passed away on October 18, 2015 at Shady Grove Hospital. She was a devoted wife of the late Lewis Aubrey Cross, Sr., as well as a loving mother and grandmother. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Harry T .Bussard, and Mary K. Bussard, along with eight siblings. She is survived by two children, Lewis Aubrey Cross, Jr. and Deborah Ann Lee, her four grandchildren, Beverly Ricketts, Deborah Webb, Shawn Thompson, and Brent Cross. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Rachel Tiffany Procter, Renee Tiffany, Clint Denman, Ryan Ricketts, Austin Cross, Tyler Cross, Aaron Thompson, Audrey Thompson, Jacqueline Webb, and Ava Cross; and great-great grandchild, Leia Jeffries.
She was born and raised on the Agricultural History Farm Park, where she later volunteered with The Friends of the Farm, helping with funnel cakes, and giving school tours to local classes. She was an avid bowler and bingo player, where she also volunteered her time to help in the kitchen and run the games. She will be missed at the Montgomery County Fair, where she was a lifetime member, and volunteered each year. She was also a member of the Auxiliary Fire Department over 20 years.
