Mrs. Clarice Sophia Lund Schwartzbeck, 83, formerly of Middletown and Martinsburg, W.Va., who had been living with a grandson in Edgewood, died Saturday, Feb. 19 at Hart Heritage Homes in Street, after a lengthy illness.
She was the wife of Charles M. Schwartzbeck Sr., who died March 24, 1996.
Born Sept. 16, 1916, in Hitterdal, Minn., she was a daughter of the late Otto and Gunda Lund.
She came to Maryland in 1934 and was a homemaker all her married life. She was a Methodist and a member of the Montgomery County Agricultural Center/Fair.
Surviving are two daughters, Agnes Trane Arnold of Spring Hill, Fla., and Cora Faith Munday and husband Martin of Frederick; one son, Charles M. Schwartzbeck Jr. of Brunswick; two sisters, Thelma McArdell and husband Joseph of Arkansas and Grace Leuck and husband Ray of Minnesota; two brothers, Curtis Lund and wife Denyse, and Earl Lund, both of Minnesota; five grandchildren, Richard Wayne Munday and Debra Ann Dart, both of Frederick, Kenneth Barry Schwartzbeck and wife Susan of Edgewood, Vincent Allan Munday and wife Rene, and Wanda Lynn Flook and husband Thomas, all of Middletown, and Amanda Laine and Jesse Blair Schwartzbeck of Bulls Gap, Tenn.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Cora Fay and Florence Searle; two brothers, Gordon Lund Sr. and Orville Lund; one granddaughter, Lori Lea Munday; and son-in-law, William Franklin Arnold.
She will also be remembered by special friends Joyce Mills of Frederick, Doris Baker of Brunswick and Ruth Sallmen of Minnesota
