Charles Montgomery “Sonny” “Charlie” Schwartzbeck Jr., 70, of Brunswick House in Brunswick, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at College View Center in Frederick.
Born April 11, 1942, in Quince Orchard, Montgomery County, he was the son of the late Charles Montgomery Sr. and Clarice S. Lund Schwartzbeck.
He graduated from Gaithersburg High School in Gaithersburg, in 1960. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the city of Frederick after 15 years in 1989.
He was a member of the Montgomery County Jersey Cattle Club, life member of the Montgomery County Agricultural Center/Fair, American Legion Post 96 in Brunswick, and Montgomery County 4-H All Stars.
Surviving are sisters Agnes I. Arnold, and Cora F. and husband Martin Munday, all of Frederick; nephews Kenneth B. Schwartzbeck, of Edgewood, Richard Munday, of Frederick, and Vincent Munday and wife Donna, of Hagerstown; nieces Wanda L. Flook-Rowe and husband Donnie Jr., of North Carolina, and Debra A. Dart, of Frederick; great-nieces and great-nephews Amanda, Jesse and Klohlie Schwartzbeck, Lori Lea Flook, Jennifer Knox and husband Jared Logan, and Michael, Christian and Westin Flook; and friends and family from the Brunswick House.
He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, William F. Arnold; and a niece, Lori Lea Munday.
