Mr. Charles B. Cramer III, 82, of Damascus, died Saturday, Oct. 5, at Montgomery General Hospital, Olney.
He was the husband of Patsy B. Cramer.
Born Jan. 24, 1920, in Washington, he was the son of the late Charles B. Jr. and Ella Ann Cogan Cramer.
Mr. Cramer was a hardware merchant in Damascus for 52 years. In 1947, he went into partnership with George W. Boyer to form Boyer & Cramer Paint & Hardware in Damascus, until it closed in 1999 and Mr. Cramer retired.
He was a member of Damascus Volunteer Fire Co., Damascus United Methodist Church, Mount Airy Veterans of Foreign Wars, Damascus American Legion Post 171 and Damascus Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow.
Surviving in addition to his wife are six children, Charles B. Cramer IV and wife Bonnie W. of New Market, McKendree B. Cramer Sr. and wife Peggy N. of Edgewater, George C. Cramer and wife Paulette G. of Damascus, H. Preston Holley Jr. and wife Judy A. of South Lyon, Mich., Terry L. Holley of Knoxville, Tenn., and Mary E. Holley of Oswego, Ore.; nine grandchildren, Kirk E. Cramer, Charles Adam Cramer, Brian P. Roth, Stacy A. Campbell, Emily H. Cramer, George A. Cramer, Kristin E. Cramer, Christopher L. Holley and Heather L. Phillips; two great-granddaughters, Fawn Marie Campbell and Elizabeth S. Stowell; one sister, Ann C. Kurtz of Hanover, Pa.; and one brother, Thomas E. Cramer of Quincy, Pa.
Mr. Cramer was preceded in death by a grandson, McKendree B. Cramer Jr.; and a sister, Jeanne White McKenzie.
