Mrs. Betty Lee Sheckels, 74, of Union Bridge, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at her home after an extended illness. Born Sept. 13, 1936, in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur L. and Violet Louise Mohler Hale. She was the wife of Edward James Sheckels Jr., who died in 2006. Mrs. Sheckels enjoyed crocheting and word-search puzzles. The family extends appreciation for the care given to Mrs. Sheckels by all of her care givers.

Surviving are a daughter, Dorcus Downs and husband, Carl, of Union Bridge; a son, Arthur Marshall and wife, Myra, of Waynesboro, Pa.; four grandchildren, Kelly Miller, Benjamin Bowman, Christopher and David Marshall; and four great-grandchildren.
