Gaithersburg, MD — The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair, Maryland’s largest county fair, returns to the Gaithersburg Fairgrounds from Friday, August 14 through Saturday, August 22, 2026, for its 77th annual fair.

This year’s theme, “Barn in the USA,” celebrates America’s 250th anniversary while honoring Montgomery County’s agricultural traditions and community spirit with nine days of family entertainment, carnival rides, exhibits, contests, food, and grandstand events.

Fair Highlights

Guests can enjoy classic fair favorites including pit beef, barbecue, sweet corn, funnel cakes, kettle corn, the popular Cheese Booth, fresh ice cream at the parlor, and the Free Giant Wok Stir Fry experience.

Fairgoers can explore livestock barns featuring cattle, horses, goats, sheep, pigs, rabbits, and poultry while visiting agricultural exhibits, educational displays, and 4-H and FFA showcases.

Children ages 2–12 can participate in the Fair’s Reading Program to earn coupons for free soda, free ice cream, and a free carnival ride.

Guests can also enjoy a variety of contests and exhibits, including coloring contests, cheese carving, toilet and toilet seat decorating, flower arranging competitions, the Project G Street Fair Fashion Show, as well as craft and horticulture displays.

• Friday, Aug. 14: 3 p.m. – Midnight
• Saturdays, Aug. 15 & 22 and Friday, Aug. 21: 10 a.m. – Midnight
• Sunday, Aug. 16 – Thursday, Aug. 20: 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.

Admission, Parking, and Transportation

Free parking is available for all guests, along with complimentary shuttle bus service from Montgomery College’s Rockville and Germantown campuses.
