FAQs

The opening day of the Fair is 3 weeks prior to the Friday before Labor day.

The Montgomery County Agricultural Fairgrounds does NOT allow any type of drone usage.

Patron Conveniences

  • ATM machines will be located in multiple areas throughout the Fairgrounds.
  • Several trams with wheelchair accessibility will transport patrons to designated locations on the Fairgrounds.
  • First Aid, provided by Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center is located on Maple Ave. in Building #23, across from the Rabbit Barn, and also by Fire & Rescue in their tent across from the Granstand.
  • Baby changing areas are located in most restrooms, in the Carnival, and at the Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center First Aid.
  • Staffed WTOP Information Gazebos are located throughout the Fairgrounds
  • Air conditioned Buildings: The Heritage, Building #6 and the Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center First Aid on Maple Ave as well as the United Service Specialists tent in front of the Grandstand.

Non-exhibit Animal Policy

  • During Fair time, NO ANIMALS are allowed on Ag Center property unless they are registered for exhibition at that time or they have been granted a special Ag Center permit. Exception: Service Animals.
  • Owners of animals granted permit by the Ag Center shall abide by all restrictions imposed by the Ag Center

Brown Bag

Food and beverages may be brought into the Fair. Alcoholic beverages are NOT permitted.

Prohibited Items/ Behavior

  • Possession, distribution or use of alcohol or any controlled substance
  • Possession or use of any form of weapon or object that might be used as a weapon
  • Selfie Sticks
  • Drones
  • Display of colors associated with gang activity
  • Flashing signs or shout-outs associated with gang activity
  • Loitering or gathering in groups
  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Soliciting
  • Political campaigning on the Montgomery County Fairgrounds is not permitted
